Skin Care and Skin Therapy is an integral part of any successful beauty clinic or aesthetic practice. This course will cover the fundamentals of skin care for both in-clinic use and home based treatments. You will learn how to recommend appropriate products to help achieve the results your patients desire.

This course also covers how to choose and perform common facial peels used in the industry. You will also learn about the functions and procedures of micro-needling, microdermabrasion, and LED therapy to treat certain skin conditions and enhance overall cosmetic therapy outcomes.

We do recommend that you complete the courses in the Skin Foundation Online Program before embarking on this module in order to maximise your learning.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this module, you should be able to:

  • Understand basics of skin anatomy and skin type classification
  • Be familiar with common active ingredients and how to prescribe a customised skin care regime
  • Be familiar with different types of chemical peels and their protocols
  • Understand functions and procedures of microneedling, microdermabrasion and LED therapy
  • Understand various treatment indications, contraindications, and risks
