Skin Care and Skin Therapy is an integral part of any successful beauty clinic or aesthetic practice. This workshop will cover the fundamentals of skin care for both in-clinic use and home based treatments. You will learn how to recommend the appropriate skin solutions to help achieve the results your clients desire.

This course covers how to choose and perform popular facial peels, LED therapy and microneeedling treatments offered in the industry. You will also learn about the functions and procedures for microdermabrasion. The goal is to equip you with skills and knowledge in skin therapy solutions to treat common skin conditions and enhance overall cosmetic therapy outcomes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this workshop, you should be able to:

• Know how to use the SkinScope for skin analysis
• Identify the different skin types and conditions
• Identify treatment options for the appropriate skin types
• Know how to recommend and perform peels, microneedling and microdermabrasion
• Understand how to conduct sucessful consultations with pre and post care

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Sandy Diep is the Victoria trainer for skin therapy at Aesthetics and Skin Institute. Sandy is a passionate skin therapist with years of experience in the medical aesthetics industry working in tandem with cosmetic doctors and nurses. Graduating from the prestigious Elly Lukas Beauty Therapy College, Sandy has gone on to practice in some of Australia's major skin clinics. She is currently also the lead trainer with Skintech Medical Cosmetic Clinics.

She prides herself in helping clients achieve beautiful skin and strives for them to walk out of the clinic with visible results and improved confidence. Sandy is excited to share the vast knowledge that she has gained from her clinical experience, as well as being trained and mentored by ASI's Medical Director Dr Ben Chan and other popular equipment manufacturers such as Merz and Cynosure. She is committed to helping her students build the confidence to treat various skin conditions using best-in-class skin therapy techniques.

COURSE COMPONENTS


Online Course
After enrolling, you will receive immediate lifetime access to the online component of the hands-on training. You will need to review the material and pass the tests to complete the course before attending the in-person session. During this process, you are encouraged to reach out with any questions. Completing this course may also help you with applying for insurance if you have not already, and deliver proper informed consent to your model prior to the practical training.

Hands-On Training
The practical training will cover important theory information and focus mainly on the hands-on approach of the procedure where you will have the opportunity to treat your own patient. This includes treatment consultation and planning, choosing the appropriate product tailored to your patient, taking clinical photos and much more. This is carried out in an actual medical aesthetics clinic, where health and safety standards are met according to local regulatory guidelines.

Aesthetics training requires more than just attending a workshop. After completing the training, you are encouraged to reach out to our trainers with any questions as you continue to build experience and competency. We invite you to join our exclusive Facebook groups for support on a day-to-day basis. You can also take advantage of our mentorship program to further hone your skils. REQUIREMENTS

This workshop is aimed at all practitioner levels that are able to perform this treatment within their scope of practice as determined by their local regulatory body. You must have basic knowledge of skin science or have completed our online course Fundamentals of Skin Science. You must have insurance coverage for this procedure. You will be required to either participate as a model for the hands-on skin treatments, or bring along someone else to be your model.

CERTIFICATION AND CPD

You will receive a Certificate of Completion for the online course and hands-on workshop respectively. You will receive 16 CPD hours in total, 8 hours for the online course and 8 hours for the hands-on workshop. Each certificate will reflect the relevant CPD hours which you will be able to apply under the self-study component with your regulatory body.
